After installing Gift-On, the app automatically creates two gift wrap products — one for product-level gifting and one for order-level gifting. Follow these steps to configure and go live.

Step 1: Configure Your Gift Wrap Product

1. Open Gift-On from your Shopify admin (Apps → Gift-On).
2. You will land on the Product Gifting tab. The app will have already created a default gift wrap product with these defaults:

1. Update the title, description, price, and upload an image of your gift wrap.
2. Click Save to apply your changes.

Step 2: Enable Storefront Surfaces

1. In the same tab, find the Storefront Settings section.
2. Toggle on the surfaces where you want the gift wrap button to appear:
   • Cart page — button appears on each line item
   • Cart drawer — button appears in the slide-out cart drawer
   • Product detail page — button appears on the product page
3. Click Save.

Your basic setup is ready and your customer can start gift wrapping at the product level.

Step 3: Enabling the App Embed in Your Theme

Before your customers can see gift wrap options on your store, you need to enable the Gift-On app embed in your Shopify theme.

What is an App Embed?

An app embed is a Shopify theme extension that runs in the background of your store. Unlike app blocks which need to be manually placed on specific pages, an app embed works globally once enabled — it automatically injects Gift-On's gift wrap buttons on the product page, cart page, and cart drawer based on the surfaces you've toggled on in your settings.

You only need to enable the app embed once. After that, Gift-On handles everything else — no need to edit individual page templates.

1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes → Edit Theme.
2. Click App embeds in the left sidebar.
