Gift messages let your customers add a personalised note to their gift. You can control the default message, character limits, font styles, and From/To fields.

Settings

Go to the Gift Message Settings tab in Gift-On. Here's what you can configure:

How Customers Use It

  1. Customer clicks the gift wrap button on a product or in the cart.
  2. The modal opens with the default message pre-filled (if set).
  3. Customer can edit the message (if custom messages are enabled), fill in From/To, and optionally record a voice note.
  4. The message is stored as a line item property on the gift wrap item and is visible in the Shopify order details.

Tip: Keep your default template short and universal — something like "Wishing you a wonderful day!" works for most occasions. Customers can always personalise it.
