Voice notes let your customers record a short audio message that the gift recipient can listen to. A QR code is generated for each voice note so it can be printed on packing slips or included in the package.
Enabling Voice Notes
- Go to the Gift Message Settings tab.
- Toggle on Enable Voice Messages.
- Configure:
- Max recording duration: 5–30 seconds (default: 30)
- Retention period: 30–365 days (default: 90 days) — how long the audio is stored before auto-deletion
- Click Save.

How It Works for Customers
- When adding gift wrap, a microphone icon appears in the gift message modal.
- Customer clicks it to record. The browser will ask for microphone permission.
- After recording, they can play it back or re-record.
- On submit, the voice note is uploaded and a unique playback link is generated.

QR Code Playback
Each voice note generates a QR code that links to a playback page. The recipient scans the QR code with their phone to hear the message.
- The playback page shows an audio player and the written gift message.
- The QR code can be included in packing slips or printed labels.
