Configuring Product-Level Gift Wrap

After installing Gift-On, open it from your Shopify admin by going to Apps → Gift-On. You'll land on the dashboard. From there, navigate to Quick Access section and click Settings to open the Product Level Gifting tab — this is where you configure your gift wrap product, set pricing, upload images, and control where the gift wrap option appears on your storefront.

Setting Up Product-Level Gift Wrap

When you first install Gift-On and open the Product Level Gifting tab, the app automatically creates a dedicated gift wrap product in your Shopify catalogue — no manual setup required. This product is what your customers see when they choose to add gift wrapping to an item. It comes pre-filled with a default title, description, placeholder image, and a price of $0.00, so you can start offering gift wrap right away. You can customise every detail from this tab before going live.

Product Fields

Note: The gift wrap product is automatically set as Unlisted in your Shopify catalogue. It will not appear in store search results or collections — it can only be added to the cart through the gift wrap buttons.

To configure these fields, simply update each one in the Product Level Gifting tab and click Save. Here are a few tips to get the most out of each field:

Title — Choose something clear and appealing. For example, "Premium Gift Wrapping" or "Add Gift Wrap" works better than the default. Keep it short so it fits neatly on your product pages and cart.
Description — This is your chance to sell the experience. Instead of something generic, describe what makes your gift wrap special — the materials, the finish, the little details. For example, "Your item wrapped in tissue paper with a ribbon and a gift tag" — simple, clear, and tells customers exactly what they're getting. The more specific you are, the more likely they are to add it.
Media — Upload a high-quality image of your actual gift wrap. A real photo of a wrapped product builds trust and helps customers visualise the experience.
Price — Set a price that reflects the value. Many stores charge between $2.00 and $5.00 for standard gift wrapping. You can also leave it at $0.00 to offer it as a free perk.

Managing the Product

After the product is created, you can:

Click Manage Product in the Gift-On dashboard to open the product in your Shopify admin.
Edit the product directly in Shopify — add variants, update images, change pricing.
Any changes made in Shopify are automatically synced back to Gift-On.
